We experienced the same problem again in a newer version of the WURFL API (version 1.5).
Do you have any ETA for when this will be fixed?

Hi, The class WURFL_DeviceRepositoryBuilder tries to obtain an exclusive file lock to prevent multiple instances of the updater from updating the WURFL at the same time.
