Re: 51Degree Mobile is legitimate? Benfit of Sc.Mobile over
ScientiaMobile was created to make WURFL development and support self-sustainable economically, since the previous model was not working (in short: nobody was paying a dime for it) and hence not scaling as it is going to do now. The objective was to find a way to commercial software that would allow...

Re: Possible to configure Web.xml to listen to specific file
this seems to me like a question about how to configure your AppServer, not WURFL.

Re: Tablets are rendering mobile sites instead of standard
which capabilities are you using to detect mobile vs web?
WURFL assumes that a tablet is a mobile device. If you don't like that, you'll need to make your app smarter and exploit the is_tablet option.
Which API are you using? can you post some code?

Re: Tablets are rendering mobile sites instead of standard
WURFL comes with a nice "is_tablet" capability. You can use that to decide which treat should be reserved to tablets. Some consider them mobile devices. Others consider them fully-fledged web browser. Others still cannot simply direct tablets to their websites because iPads lack flash support. At th...

Re: wurfl tests from older (1.2.2) jar ?
Aidandon, we want people to move to version 1.3.X of the API, since that's the supported one and WURFL has now an important commercial dimension to it. Also consider that, starting with version 2.2 of the WURFL repository, you cannot legally use version 1.2 of the API with the WURFL repository. If y...

The trend within the Fennec team is to go our of their way to disguise the hosting device.

Re: What is the optimal way to Apache-WURFL integration?
I see what you mean. We do not have an option in that space right now. But this is an idea we are playing with. Anyway, if we deliver a properly built Apache module in that space it won't be either cheap nor open-source.

Re: What is the optimal way to Apache-WURFL integration?
I have not dealt with connectors for some time, but the way I remember them is that Apache will simply pass the HTTP request on to the AppServer. At that point, Java code takes over and can do whatever it pleases with the request and with the response, including directing the client to one of many d...

Re: What is the optimal way to Apache-WURFL integration?
just use the WURFL Java API to read the 'is_wireless_device' capability and understand whether its a mobile device or not.
