Re: LG Optimus Zone
Hi chum63, The device and User-Agent string seem to be recognized perfectly by WURFL on our end. Please update to the newest WURFL.xml file that you have access to and let us know if that fixes your detection issue. If you would like to submit User-Agent/Device information, please feel free to start...

Re: Kindle Fire HD 7" screen width
Hi Dan,
What date of the WURFL.xml are you on? It is quite possible that the one you are on doesn't have the capability to resolve a Nexus 7 User Agent on Android 4.3.
BTW, was the title (Kindle Fire HD7) a typo?
Cheers!

Hi,
The devices have been added to WURFL DB and should be in the next WURFL.xml snapshot onwards. We would also be more than happy to send you a fresh WURFL.xml snapshot, with these devices included, if you could email us at wurfldb at scientiamobile (dot) com.
Thanks and cheers!

Re: Problem Android Detection Generic Mobile/Tablet
Hi City21, A lot of these UAs seem to be desktop devices that are trying to emulate mobile devices but are failing. Here are some examples: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 NokiaN95 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; fr; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110420 noki...

Re: Upcoming new iPhones/iOS 7
Hi,
The iOS User-Agents(UAs) have been in the WURFL.xml for a few months now and we are also releasing an update to the WURFL API very soon(inside of 2 weeks) that should provide enhanced recovery matching for iOS 7 UAs.
Thanks and cheers!

Re: ios version issue
Hi Amit, Let me address your questions post by post: I need to count how many requests I get from devices with ios 6. I wanted to use the "device_os_version" capability, but apparently some user agents were recognized as devices with different ios version than specified in the user agent. For exampl...

Re: samsung detection with java api
Hi Amit,
We've added the User-Agent(UA) for the GT-S3802(Rex 70 Duos) to the WURFL DB and it should be in the next weekly WURFL.xml snapshot onwards. You should see a more accurate detection of this UA after you update the WURFL.xml file on Monday.
Thanks and cheers!

Hi Nirav,
Which language and version of the WURFL API and what date of the WURFL.xml file are you on? Also, what User-Agents[UAs] are you seeing this issue with? We'll use this information to try replicate this behavior on our end.
Thanks and cheers!

Re: BB Z10 not detected by api
Hi Ryan, I tried to replicate the issue on our end using the WURFL .NET API 1.4.4 and last weekend's WURFL.xml snapshot but the User Agent you supplied seems to be correctly detected. Could you let us know if you are using WURFL in a custom setup, eg. with custom patch files etc. ? Thanks and cheers!

Hi city21,
The GT-P5210 was added in July 2013 and hence you'll need to update to a newer WURFL.xml file to detect it properly.
Cheers!

Thank you. Your patience and assistance is appreciated. For updates, I will stay tuned, and as soon as I have other incompatible UAs, I will share it.

Re: Problem Android Detection Generic Mobile/Tablet
Hi city21, I've added the other UAs to WURFL DB as well and you should see improved detection from the next WURFL.xml release onwards. For the last one, i obtained Tablet "Samsung GT-P5210 (Galaxy Tab 3 10.1)" from WURFL Tools, but locally is a Mobile "Generic Android 4.2" (XML missing). Could you t...

Re: Problem Android Detection Generic Mobile/Tablet
Hi city21, Thank you for your post. The UAs that you've mentioned in your post are all tablets, which is the reason why they were detected as such on the WURFL Tools website. We constantly work on improvements to the WURFL API logic and the results from the WURFL Tools are the result of that. The lo...

Re: Max Supported Image Size for Nokia 603
Hi Renee, Thanks for the heads-up. We've not been able to get our hands on a Nokia 603(yet) to get the max_image width and height values and, as a result, the capability values are derived from its fallback for the moment. If you have access to the device and can provide us with the correct capabili...

Hi Osiris,
Thank you for your post and heads-up about the is_bot capability. We are currently working on optimizing the bot detection logic in the WURFL API and we'll also make sure the capability values are fixed.
Thanks and cheers!

Hi Bala,
You'll need to upgrade to a newer version of the WURFL API[V1.4.4 is currently the newest, while V1.4 is about a year old now ]. Each WURFL API release not only provides bug fixes, but also builds on the previous releases' features.
Cheers!

Re: IE 10: windows 7; 32 bit OS detected as Mobile Device.
Hi Bala,
This UA is detected fine on our end, as msie_10 in high accuracy mode and as generic_web_browser in high performance mode. What type and version of the WURFL API are you on? This information will help us troubleshoot this issue for you.
Thanks and cheers!
