The latest release available on sourceforge is 2.3.5 of date 2013-10-09. That's over 7 months.

When will the next version be released?

We do not have an ETA on this. Also, please remember that you are supposed to open source your complete code base if you use AGPL WURFL.

Have you considered becoming a commercial WURFL user? this will come with weekly releases of the device data.

I'm aware of the AGPL rules as I personally choose AGPL for my projects.

Also, you're spreading FUD. The AGPL requires me to publish the changes I do to AGPL'd data, not to publish the linux kernel the data are running on.

Apart from that, we already open sourced the TYPO3 extension that makes use of the WURFL database:
