It is not clean to me where do I create the user name and password for the maven repository. The account I have with which I can login to http://www.scientiamobile.com/ doesn't work for http://maven.scientiamobile.com:8081/nexus/#welcome. Also where do I get to define the group Id or artifact id?

You will need to make sure that you are using the credentials for an account that is associated to a valid OnSite license for authentication to work. You should be able to define these settings in your pom.xml as well.
