RIM BlackBerry 9700/Onyx

I have this HTTP request, I expected this, but WURFL is returning that. Please provide enough data to reproduce the problem.

Hi there,

Happy Thursday :D!

We retrieved the below 2 UAs for BlackBerry 9700 from Device Atlas. Can you please verify if they are valid and add them for BlackBerry 9700?

1. Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9700a; en-US) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.1 Mobile Safari/530.17

2. Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9700a; en-US) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.15 Mobile Safari/530.17

Thanks!

Best,
Renee

Hi Renee,

Unfortunately, we do not accept data taken from our competition, but we will pull some BlackBerry 9700a HTTP requests from our sources and make sure they are included in the WURFL data.
Thanks,

After some research, we have determined that this user agent is not from a production device, and the number of occurrences of this user agent in the wild is so low that it must be erroneous (less than 1 in 30,000,000), therefore it will not be added.

Hi Steve, I'm also getting hits from this user agent. As you know Blackberry penetration is high here in South Africa. Are you sure that this is not a production device as I'm seeing lots of hits from it?

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the info - I'll pull some data from one of our partners in South Africa and see if perhaps this model number was re-used as a geographically-targeted device in that region.
Thanks,
