Various Samsung Android Devices Being Detected as Generic
Posted: Fri Feb 01, 2013 10:18 am
Hi,
We have a web application that we use to restrict access to only devices that meet our minimum resolution requirements (800x480 or 480x800) - as well as OS and version. We have been having issues with a number of Samsung devices that are being resolved as Generic Android x.y devices. This leads to the device being rejected since the generic device resolution is below our minimum spec.
We have identified the following devices which do actual meet our requirements but fail to be detected appropriately; please can you add them or improve the detection so that they match:
Samsung Galaxy W
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.6; en-au; GT-I8150T Build/GINGERBREAD) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
Samsung Galaxy Note II Variant
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.1; en-ca; SGH-I317M Build/JRO03C) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30
Samsung Galaxy S3 (Cyanogen Mod)
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 4.2.1; GT-I9300 Build/JOP40D) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.0.1025.166 Mobile Safari/535.19
Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Cyanogen Mod)
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.7; md-us; Galaxy Nexus Build/GRJ22; CyanogenMod-7) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
