Incorrect browser detection?

I have this HTTP request, I expected this, but WURFL is returning that. Please provide enough data to reproduce the problem.

Incorrect browser detection?

Postby danjackson » Tue Aug 13, 2013 6:26 am

Hi,

We're testing the WURFL Apache module at UCL, & have a strange detection issue where Chrome on iOS 6.1 (iPhone 4) is being detected by WURFL_MOBILE_BROWSER as Safari. Any idea what's happening here?

We're using wurfl.xml dated 2013-07-23.

Thanks

Sorry for the trouble. This is a known issue for some user agent strings since the goal of the API is to match the request to the device profile, and in some cases, third party browsers are not properly identified. We are addressing this directly in the v2.0 release of the API, which will be sometime early next year. Also, please note that Chrome on iOS is a Safari-based web view, so content rendering should be nearly identical.
Thanks,
