If my purpose is to detect if the request came from a mobole device (Smart phone / Tablet), I can do that using HTTP USER AGENT as described in the link below,
http://detectmobilebrowsers.com/
In this scenario is there any advantage using WUFURL?
Would it know any more information than available in the user agent to detect that if the request came from a mobile device or not?
I do understand i can get lot of device information using WUFURL DDR, but if my intrest is to just know if the request came from a mobile device or not, if there any advantage?
I want to keep my solution simple.
Thanks in advance.

Re: HTTP User Agent Vs WUFURL
A script may be good enough for your needs. In that case you don't need WURFL, just like you don't need a car when a bike will do.
We could tell you that there are cases where a script will fail to detect a tablet or mobile device, yet if you run a small website, accounting for those cases may not be worth the extra resources required to run WURFL.
Thanks
