Hi there,
We are using WURFL model name for some targeting in our system. However, no matter what user-agent we use from iPhone, e.g. iPhone 4/4s/5/5s/5c, WURFL is only able to give us a generic model name as "iPhone". But I could see iPhone 4/4s/5/5s/5c in the list of devices that are supported for the model name detection. Is there anything I missed here? How could we get specific iPhone model other than the generic "iPhone"?
Thanks,
Kai
iphone model name detection question
Re: iphone model name detection question
Kai,
This is due to how the Apple has chosen to identify the devices in their User Agent strings. Apple does not disclose the underlying device, thus not making it possible to narrow down the exact device id using only the UA.
Thank you,
Elliot

Re: iphone model name detection question
Hi Elliot,
Is there any way to do the model name detection based on the screen height and width for the device?
Thanks
