End of Life - WURFL Data Update for Flash Support

Executive Summary: We will update WURFL data to reflect the decommissioning of Adobe Flash. The update will take place on Sunday, January 10th 2021.

Dear Customer,

As you may know, Adobe is no longer supporting Flash after December 31st 2020. Many major browsers like Firefox and Chrome are planning to discontinue support for Flash content within their browsers. Adobe will also proactively stop Flash content from running within Flash Player starting January 12th 2021.

As a result, ScientiaMobile’s full_flash_support, streaming_flv, fl_standalone and flash_lite_version static capabilities will begin to return false for all User-Agents with the wurfl.xml snapshot released on Sunday, January 10th 2021.

If you have enabled automatic wurfl.xml updates, no further action from your end is necessary to receive the new detection logic.

If you do not use wurfl-updater, you can update your wurfl.xml snapshot manually by logging into your customer vault and downloading the wurfl.xml through your personal access token.
