Hello,
Could you please add this device to WURFL ?
Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9800; fr) AppleWebKit/534.1+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.246 Mobile Safari/534.1+
This user-agent comes from Orange in France. In the current DB, I found the following similar entries :
<device id="blackberry9800_ver1_sub600141" user_agent="Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9800; es) AppleWebKit/534.1+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.141 Mobile Safari/534.1+" fall_back="blackberry9800_ver1"/>
<device id="blackberry9800_ver1_sub600201" user_agent="Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9800; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.1+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.201 Mobile Safari/534.1+" fall_back="blackberry9800_ver1"/>
<device id="blackberry9800_ver1_sub600214" user_agent="Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9800; en) AppleWebKit/534.1+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.214 Mobile Safari/534.1+" fall_back="blackberry9800_ver1"/>
<device id="blackberry9800_ver1_sub600225" user_agent="Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9800; es) AppleWebKit/534.1+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.225 Mobile Safari/534.1+" fall_back="blackberry9800_ver1"/>
<device id="blackberry9800_ver1_sub600246" user_agent="Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9800; it) AppleWebKit/534.1+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.246 Mobile Safari/534.1+" fall_back="blackberry9800_ver1"/>
Many thanks,
Bruno

Re: Blackberry 9800 - French
Honestly, it seems to me that this deserves an improvement of the API, rather than bloating WURFL with loads of repeated info.

PS: Will someone tell RIM to 1) stop adding the language substring in the UA (there's a Language HTTP header for that) and 2) stop changing the schema with which such language substring is added to the UA string?

Bruno, which API are you using? we did a test with the Java API and the device you mentioned is already correctly matchedbruno wrote:Hello,

Re: Blackberry 9800 - French
I am using the PHP API for one part of my application, and tera-wurfl for another part. I also tested the user-agent on http://db.scientiamobile.com/, and got "no device found".
Best regards,

Re: Blackberry 9800 - French
This is a very bad idea, because the WURFL DB is a Rails application, its only purpose is to collect contributor data and implements none of the API logic.bruno wrote: I also tested the user-agent on http://db.scientiamobile.com/, and got "no device found".
