LG Optimus Zone

Postby aquto » Tue Oct 01, 2013 3:03 pm

Hi,

I am a paying subscriber to the WURFL data and we really need 2 devices added to the WURFL database.

Optimus Zone
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.6; en-us; LG-VS410PP Build/GRK39F) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1

Optimus Exceed
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.0.4; en-us; VS840PP Build/IMM76D) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30

Thanks!

Hi,

The devices have been added to WURFL DB and should be in the next WURFL.xml snapshot onwards. We would also be more than happy to send you a fresh WURFL.xml snapshot, with these devices included, if you could email us at wurfldb at scientiamobile (dot) com.

Thanks and cheers!

Hi - I am new, but have found this is not being picked up with a marketing name:

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.1; en-in; LG-P500 Build/FRG83) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1 = LG Optimus One

Is there a better place to submit this information?

Cheers.

Hi chum63,

The device and User-Agent string seem to be recognized perfectly by WURFL on our end. Please update to the newest WURFL.xml file that you have access to and let us know if that fixes your detection issue.

If you would like to submit User-Agent/Device information, please feel free to start a new thread here or email us at wurfldb#at#scientiamobile(dot)com.

Thanks,
Sriram Sridharan

I am actually testing your cloud services... when I submit the HTTP-AGENT_Header as sent before I get the model, but not the marketing name. I have attached a screen shot my old device detection api found it but yours did not.

If you look at 19 and 20 you will see in the 6th Column the cloud service does not bring back a marketing name, but does for other devices...

Sorry - should have said what I was using.

Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the detailed information. The issue was that the marketing name of this device wasn't populated in WURFL and hence was not displayed. I have corrected the issue and you should see the marketing name begin to appear when the WURFL Cloud data is next refreshed.

Thanks and cheers,
Sriram Sridharan

Hi - I noticed this morning that the cloud still does not have the LG Optimus one as a marketing name and wondered how often the cloud mobile data get refreshed?

This is from this morning test : LG:P500: / Android:2.2 / Android Webkit: [ 1]

More for information than a complaint :D

Cheers, Chris.

The Cloud infrastructure is updated weekly. Usually in the weekend. So you will be able to see the update on monday.

If your business is dependent on very fine grained control, that's where our InFuze and OnSite product offerings can help. They come with full support for WURFL patch files, i.e. the ability to manage your own delta of device information.

Thanks
