The new Windows 10 Edge browser is currently identified as Chrome 42. This is because the both Chrome and Safari are included in the new Edge user agent, eg.
"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/42.0.2311.135 Safari/537.36 Edge/12.10240"
There is an Edge identifier at the end of the User Agent string, so it should be possible to identify it correctly. There is an official write up on all the User Agent changes for Windows 10 on MSDN at
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/librar ... s.85).aspx
When do you plan to add support for Windows 10/Edge browser?
Edge browser being identified as Chrome
Re: Edge browser being identified as Chrome
Hello,
Are you able to provide me with the version of the API that you are using? The latest version of the API (1.6.1) will return `msie_12` as the device ID for this User Agent string.
Thank you,
Elliot

This was using WURFL Cloud. I can also replicate it using Tera WURFL which has Database API version 1.5.2.1 (aka Tera-WURFL 2.2.5).

Re: Edge browser being identified as Chrome
Are you able to let me know where you have sourced the User Agent that you have provided? It appears to be malformed since it is missing several feature tokens (`Windows NT 10.0` instead of `Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64`). If you have access to the device, are you able to submit the headers here?
Thank you,
Elliot

Re: Edge browser being identified as Chrome
I see, it looks like I copied the User Agent down wrong. I was emulating the user agent in the Chrome browser, as I don't have a final version of Windows 10 available to me yet. When I use the User-Agent "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/42.0.2311.135 Safari/537.36 Edge/12.10240" it is identified as IE 12. Will you be sticking with the browser identifier as "IE" for the Edge browser?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Edge browser being identified as Chrome
We have opted to continue identifying the Edge browser as IE until further notice in order to maintain compatibility for any users targeting IE browsers. However, the `model_name` will provide `Internet Explorer Edge Mode` if you would like to specifically target the Edge browser.

Elliot
