Safari on Max OS X

Postby patdec » Wed Dec 07, 2011 3:59 am

Hi,

Safari 5.1.1 on Mac OS X Tiger is detected as mobile browser. No issue with Firefox and Chrome on the same machine. The terawurfl database was upgraded with the last wurfl.xml - 22 november 2011.
Is there an explanation for this trouble ?

Thank you

please post all the info you have:

- API used
- web patch used
- wurfl.xml version (in general, in this particular case you have already provided it)
- "offending" UA string

Thanks

- API used: Tera-WURFL 2.0.0 (13 Nov 2009 )
- web_browsers_patch.xml 1.3 (17/11/2011)
- wurfl.xml 1.3: (17/11/2011)

No offending string. In Safari, the pages are rendered as in mobile version. All works correctly

Hi patdec, the problem is that the API (Tera-WURFL, which has since been renamed to "Database API") is seriously out of date. In order to resolve this problem, you will need to update the API: http://www.scientiamobile.com/downloads

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I updated to the last relase of Database API (2.1.5). And now it works on Safari.
I used an old revision of Tera-wurfl in a plugin of Symfony framework. I removed this obsolete plugin and now use natively the library.

Patdec, before you put the new Tera-WURFl in production, please be aware of the licensing change.

If you use it commercially, you want to pay attention to this.
